Block of Clay, by Wendy Dawson:
Pulling and ripping
Squeezing and pressing
Press for hole, press for dent,
How hard I press, deep, deep, deep,
The clay gives way
Tears apart
Light floods the hole
No longer a solid piece
No longer a block
The negative becomes the positive
The space within becomes a point of interest
Framing what lies beyond
Guiding your eyes
HEY LIAR, by Dawn Paisley Mills
HEY LIAR!
Hear you twisting up the truth, and you conspire
You are empty, with no proof, your words are dire
Your lies they spread for miles and miles
And start a fire
Hopefully the truth will soon unravel, and transpire
HEY LIAR!
You’re telling lies from here to there, and coast to coast
I have seen the evidence, inside my post
You go straight to bloody hell, I hope you roast
Now you are maxing out your lies, you overdosed
Now for all the broken lives, let’s drink a toast
'Cos there’s a liar in our midst, just like a ghost
HEY LIAR!
You see we enter through the front, and you the back
We are always on our guard, from your attack
It’s a conscience and a life that you must lack
And there’s no room for your sharp knife inside my back
See the scars are firmly set, just like a track
HEY LIAR!
It’s time to stop and see the truth before your eyes
I can hear the mothers weep, and babies cries
You don’t want to tell the truth, you are not wise
And every day that lies are spread and someone dies
You simply fail to show some grace and recognise
HEY LIAR!
Why don’t you pack your bags, and please expire
You are oral suicide, you never tire
So just you close your spiteful mouth, and please retire
You’re standing, watching, like a bird upon a wire
And your lies are causing victims to perspire
HEY LIAR!
You keep astounding, so profound, but can’t you see
And you really bend the truth so naturally
And it’s clearly damaging for all to see
Even Demons do applaud you willingly
You twist the lies around your tongue from A to Zee
And you are covered in your own hypocrisy
You find it easy when you’re criticising me
Now go perfect your evil art below the sea,
You will never hold me down, now get behind me!
You are worthy to be strung up from a tree
I want your lies exposed and everyone to see
HEY LIAR!
I cut the rope around my neck, and now I'm free
Please stop your lies, remove your spies, stop hounding me
Wont walk away, I'm here to stay, theres more to see
Can I turn away with hate, walk gracefully?
Ive no intention to stop fighting, that ain't me!
HEY LIAR! There is something that I'm needing you to know
Professionals ain't acting right, ‘You ain't NO PRO!
What you write and what you say ain't white as snow
Now here is something that I wanted you to know
You tried to blacken me but now you watch me glow
Exposed, so now sit back, relax, enjoy the show
Retreat from lies and now its time for me to go
HEY LIAR!
I'm here to speak out for the hurt and worn out mums
They're going crazy, now they're all speaking in tongues
Even the score, theres so much more, you do the sums
We read the lies, and hear it when they're bumpin' gums
They underestimate us, We Are NO DUM DUMS!
And I don’t sit here breaking down
And twiddling thumbs
While these Liars try to throw us dried up crumbs
HEY LIAR!
Foolish schemes and plans don’t seem to work on me
So you just keep on pulling hair and climbing trees
Send your venom and I'll Resend honey bees
So you just keep on pulling hair and jangling keys
Because I'm strong and I don't weaken at the knees
I don’t associate with dogs and all their fleas
'Till I expose the awful truth, for all to see
I'll make you walk the other way, when you see me!
