‘A walk along the coast’, by Michelle
My mind so often takes me
Where I have no desire to go
To dark and lonely places
I have visited before.
When emotions overwhelm me
When I hurt the most
Nothing else can soothe me like a walk along the coast.
Seagulls screech out my anguish
Painful thoughts ebb with the tide
As I gaze in silent reverence at the sea so vast and wide.
I view the horizon
Where sea and sky uninterrupted meet
Consumed with awe and wonder at nature’s amazing feat.
The solace I am seeking
The peace I crave the most
Can always be discovered when I walk along the coast.
