‘Memories’, By Michelle
Memories can be painful
Not because they are sad
Because they are reminders of the life that you once had
Time can ease the heartache
Soothe the anguished pain
Memories can open doors to bring it flooding back again
Locked deep within you
A part of everything you are
Beloved, familiar faces, cherished and so dear
Memories if you let them
Can turn the special key
To open up the doorway to that inner sanctuary
Then the never forgotten faces
And voices still so clear
Come rushing out and fill your soul with sorrow so severe
Memories can be beautiful
But still cause so much pain
Because they are reminders of those you long to see again
‘The River of My Dreams’, By Nicholas Mackey
There is
a sun
rising
from deep
in my soul
it fills
my happiness
shining
over me
with warmth
light-kissed air
dances
sparkling
on river waters
of my dreams
the life
that I have
flows long
with the embrace
of my loved ones
